Music deserves visuals as dynamic as the sounds it creates. This project reimagines the look of VST plugins, replacing standard, utilitarian interfaces with bold, personality-packed skins. Each design transforms the user’s creative space, making every interaction more inspiring and visually memorable.
concept
The project explores how design can change the way we interact with tools. By giving each plugin a distinct personality - from playful and retro to sleek and futuristic - I wanted to inspire musicians to approach their work differently, sparking curiosity and joy every time they open a new interface.
design
Each skin was crafted to break free from the monotony of standard plugin interfaces. Instead of lifeless sliders and plain panels, I introduced bold colors, dynamic shapes, and unexpected visual themes, turning each plugin into a mini work of art. The goal was to make the act of making music feel just as creative visually as it is sonically.
use of ai
Some skins were taken a step further with the help of Adobe’s Generative AI Firefly. I created detailed composition maps of the plugin layouts, then asked Firefly to design directly on them. This process allowed me to merge my initial structure and vision with AI-generated details, producing final looks that feel fresh, unexpected, and full of visual energy.
